Desirae Doan(Owner/Trainer)
"What if I fall? Oh, but darling, what if you fly?"
Flying has to be one of the best sensations one can experience, especially when on the back of horse. Ya know, let me be real with you all from the start.. Yes, I am 21 years old. I know, I know, I look like a 12 year old. Although I may look like I'm 12, I am 21 years wise. I am not the traditional horse girl. No, I didn't grow up riding, my family got out of horses before I was born. However, I have been riding since a very young age. I had the opportunity to learn and grow by riding friends horses, attending horse camp for multiple years in a row, working for some small town trainers and eventually taking upon myself by purchasing a horse for myself. By purchasing that horse, I, like any other typical girl wanted to barrel race, however, I quickly lost interest. I competed in WSCA for a few years, yet nothing kept me wanting to compete. So, I continued enjoying seeing the world in ways not many people get the option to see it as. I am a trail rider. An avid believer in no matter the discipline, every horse deserves to hit the trails and see the world before them. Since I could remember, trails have always been my thing, but what has caught my eye is the working cow horse/reined cow horse. My dream has always been to own, breed and raise quality working cow horses. Nonetheless, never did I realize it would come this soon. Never did I realize how ready I was for my dream to come true. Back then, a horse was a horse. I couldn't tell the good from the bad, the wise from the not, however in a few short years of that initially purchase I grew in more ways than I thought imaginable. I shuffled through some horses that I thought were what I wanted, but again and again I was wrong. So finally I decided, I'll make what I want.. So, here I am. Trying to create that horse that my mind is imaging. Here I am, trying to create the perfect package, the whole package. During this journey of me creating that particular horse for myself, I will also be creating a horse for someone else. As it may be, I will make mistakes and I will learn from them. Isn't that how one grows? In 2015, I had the opportunity to purchase a buckskin. In 2016, I had purchased a palomino and yet again in 2017 I had purchased another palomino. Also, during that time, I had free leased a palomino. Are you seeing a trend here? No, No, No. Its not palominos that I like. Its the COLOR! I, myself am not a fan of the typical sorrel/chestnut or bay horse. Yes, I do own them, but my goal is to add color to my breeding program. So, in 2020, I purchased my perlino stallion, with the purchase of my stallion, I will be able to provide excellent pedigree, willingness and color to any mare that is covered by my stallion. Beauty and Brains is hard to come by, but let me tell you, I fell like I hit the jackpot! I am so thankful for all my opportunities to own and ride the horses I did, I am ready to move on to the what I believe my future holds. I am ready to grow as an individual, a owner, rider and a trainer. To aide in my growth, I am happy to announce that I myself will be in training. I have found someone to take my hand and introduce me to the reined cow horse society. To teach me, show me and get me expose to what its like to be an owner, trainer, breeder and still function. While functioning is my middle name, I'll probably be a little dysfunctional during this transition, despite that I am thrilled to have this opportunity. I know I will succeed, with that being, I cannot wait to bring you all along on my experience! |
Tommy Androsky(Owner/Manager)
Manager? As if I don't do enough already, but Ill take it. There is no place I would rather be than at the front lines of this program.
To say, if this were 5 years ago, I would never have the excuse to take part in this amazing opportunity. 5 years ago, I was a junior in high school fresh out of a relationship, however, when I seen Desirae, I knew I couldn't wait any longer. I'll be honest, when we first start dating, I wasn't too thrilled to hear she was into horses. It was a world I never had experience in. I knew nothing about them. With regards, I dont believe I was prepared for what I was getting myself into. Let me ask you all, where was the heads up on horse girls and their attitudes!? No body warned me! However, I cant complain one bit. The 5 years has been the best 5 years of my life! Thanks to her, she has opened up my world to so much more than just football, cars and beer. I've learned how to live my life to the fullest. To take advantage of the little things in life like finally riding with my heels down and not wailing my arms like an elephants trunk. Thanks to her, I've learned to love horses. Owning horses isn't something that comes easy. Its definitely a privilege that should never be taken advantage of. I wouldn't recommend it for everyone, but for those who have the chance to take a leap, do it. Coming into this, I had to take a leap. I had to learn every little bit of information regarding horses. Nonetheless, if you were to ask me a question, with shear happiness, I know I would proudly be able to answer your question with out hesitation. Mind you I am still learning today and may never be as intelligent as Desirae, I will sure become just as close and confident. Talking about confidence. I am 100% confident in our program and I believe that our choice of mares and stallion(s) couldn't be anymore perfect. I am excited to endure this chance as owner and manager of such and young, but progressively building program! Join us on this journey! |
